Change.org
Features, internationalization and member research
As a contract designer at Change.org, I worked with several product pods to design new features — an app-install prompt, multi-channel communication and language internationalization — and partnered with the lead user researcher on personas and a shared research repository. Product teams could quickly cycle through building new features and testing new concepts.

App install
Working with one of the pods, I tested options for directing people to install the app, so they could go straight to their own home page.

Internationalization
As a global organization, Change.org needed to tackle language translation beyond a basic level — an essential accessibility issue.
Someone might want to support a cause in another country, or post a petition and hope it's seen around the world.

Multi-channel communication
Email alone wasn't enough for Change or for its members — people asked for more options. This feature expanded the ways members could choose to be contacted.

User research and personas
Working directly with the lead user researcher, I dove into the world of “members” and created an in-depth analysis for the organization to reference.
- Analyzed qualitative data and interviews to find commonalities
- Gathered and interpreted quantitative survey data
- Used affinity mapping to understand users and pain points
- Built a repository of findings in one cohesive format, open to every part of the organization

Impact
Speed: product teams could quickly cycle through building new features and testing new concepts.
